Date of Original Construction: 1923; 1954 (construction of second bookstore built in same location as the 1923 building)

Original Architect: Philip Keene with Glenn W. Wegner (for second bookstore)

Original Construction Cost: $29,185 (first bookstore); $374,000 (second bookstore)

Date of Remodel (three-story addition to second bookstore [$688,000] designed by Trogden and Smith): 1964

Date of Remodel (expansion of building by 21,000 square feet [$2 million] designed by TSG Architects/Interiors): 1979–1980

Date of Remodel (building was highly renovated and changed to the Chinook): 2016–2017

Use/Function: Campus bookstore; Student center and university recreation

Date of Demolition: 1953 (first bookstore was torn down)

Note: The Bookstore (or “Bookie”) moved to the CUB in 2008, at which time the building was closed.
