Dear Sir:

I am an eighth grader at St. Joseph here in Vancouver.

I am writing this letter to ask that the Port of Portland Airport not be extended into the Columbia River. Since you will be responsible for the dredging I am writing to you to tell you I don’t like the idea at all.

If it is expanded we people in Vancouver would be disturbed by the loud noise the planes would make. The fumes from the planes would and will polute [sic] our air. If the planes didn’t get a steep climb on take off they’d crash into our city. I hope you will take time to think about it. I would appreciate it if you could write me and give me your judgment. I would like to share your letter with my Civics class. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely yours,

Lisa Vassen
